Nice v Guingamp
15:00
Nice’s hopes of recording a shock league victory appear to be fading away as they could only draw at Bastia, their third stalemate in a row as they’ve now dropped down to 2nd, two points behind Monaco. Guingamp have also stumbled recently as they picked up only two points from their last three, but they remain in 5th, which is a marked improve from their 16th place finish last term.
Nice have won eight of 11 unbeaten home matches this term, including victories without conceding in their two home games against top-six opponents to date, against Lyon and Monaco. However, they’re without attacking midfielder Younes Belhanda and central midfielder Jean Seri as both have gone to the African Cup of Nations. Belhanda’s been a regular starter since joining on loan from Dynamo Kyiv and has three goals and four assists this term, whilst Seri has two goals and eight assists and has failed to start just five games since joining the club last season. Their absences have clearly been felt in the last couple of weeks.
Guingamp have managed some impressive away results this term as they’ve drawn at Monaco and won at Lyon. Indeed, despite their struggles last season, they nonetheless managed to win this fixture 0-1 and with Nice’s form dipping in recent times with those players away, we’re backing the visitors on the double chance to pick up at least a point.
