Monaco v Lyon
15:00
Monaco continue to impress as they took advantage of PSG and Nice’s draw by winning 4-0 at Bordeaux to take their goals tally for the season to 53 in only 17 games (3.1 gpg) and move just a single point behind Nice. Lyon are also in good form as their 1-0 home win over Rennes was their fifth in their last six games and so they’re up to 4th.
After coming from 2-0 down to rescue a point in their opening game of the season, Monaco have won all seven of their games at the Stade Louis II, winning the last three by an aggregate of 15-0. Their record when hosting top-five teams is W4-D5-L1 since 2014/15 and though they failed to score more than once in any of these games in the last two seasons, they’ve put three past both Rennes and PSG this term, leading at the break in both of those victories.
Lyon have won their last three on the road, putting six past Nantes in their last away game and they also put three past Monaco when these sides last met towards the end of last season. Indeed, Lyon have an excellent recent record against Monaco as they’re unbeaten in five meetings with them in all competitions since 2014/15. Three of these ended in draws and that together with Monaco’s strong draw trend in relevant fixtures means that we’re backing the stalemate here.
