Marseille picked up their third win in five games as they beat Rennes 2-0 at home to remain in 6th, four points behind Lyon in 4th, though they have played one game more. PSG, meanwhile, failed to follow up their miraculous triumph over Barca as they were held by a goalless draw at home to Toulouse and so now trail Monaco by three points at the top of the table.
Marseille have been excellent at home this term, winning six of their last seven at the Stade Velodrome and they’ve lost only once there, but that defeat was a 4-1 thumping at the hands of Monaco. They’ve hosted only one other top-six side, drawing 0-0 with Lyon, and they struggled at home to last season’s top-four, picking up only two points from these games as they were beaten 2-1 by PSG.
Indeed, PSG have won this fixture in the last two seasons despite conceding and they’ve kept only two clean sheets in their six trips to top-half teams so far this season. However, such is their form at the moment, we think they can outscore their hosts and so we’re backing PSG to win and both teams to score.
