Marseille extended their unbeaten run to eight games with their 5-1 win at Caen and so they remain in 6th, two points behind Lyon who occupy the Europa League spot, though they have played a game more. Nice picked up an impressive 3-1 win over PSG last time out to move with three points of the Parisians and leave Monaco in pole position to secure the title.
Marseille have been beaten only twice at the Stade Velodrome this term, but it’s telling that those defeats came against Monaco and PSG as they were thumped 4-1 and 5-1 respectively. Indeed, they’ve picked up only two points from their seven games against the top-four this term and so we’re looking to take them on at 1.91, particularly as Nice are W6-D1-L1 against Marseille in all competitions since 2013/14.
Nice have lost only twice on their travels this term and are W2-D4-L1 when travelling to top-half sides, though they’ve kept only two clean sheets in their last eight on the road and given Marseille’s scoring form at the moment, there could be goals in this one. We’re going to take a chance on Nice to win and both teams to score, as was the case when these two met at the Allianz Riviera earlier on in the season.
