Manchester Utd v Watford
15:00 - 11/2/2016 - Old Trafford, Manchester
Man Utd are now unbeaten in their last 15 in the Premier League, and they heaped further misery on Leicester with an accomplished 3-0 win at the King Power. The Watford side they face this weekend did not have it all their own way at Vicarage Road last weekend against Burnley, despite the visitors going down to 10 men in the opening few minutes, and they’ll be seeking a repeat of their defeat they inflicted on the Red Devils in September when they travel to Old Trafford this weekend.
United’s away loss against Watford was in fact the only time they’ve lost to a middle-third side this season: barring that match, they’ve gone W4-D3-L0 at all venues against such sides. Seven of their last 10 such games at Old Trafford have seen fewer than three goals, so there’s a good chance this will be a low-scoring encounter. The Hornets’ win against Arsenal was the first time they’d not lost at a top-six club over the last two seasons and they’ve not won at United in the modern era – it would be a surprise to see them win at Old Trafford this weekend.
With Watford overperforming, we’re steering clear of the match outcome markets, but we have spotted that the first half was goalless in seven of United’s top home games against middle-third sides and Watford were scoreless at the break in eight of their last nine away at top-six sides, so we fancy a small wager on a 0-0 half time scoreline.
