Manchester City v Tottenham Betting Tips

Inarguably the showpiece game of this weekend, Man City and Spurs enjoyed very contrasting fortunes last time out. City suffered a 4-0 thumping at the hands of a resurgent Everton outfit, while a Harry Kane hat-trick and a Gareth McAuley own goal allowed Spurs to inflict the same scoreline on West Brom. Spurs are still second and remain some distance behind Chelsea, but a win against Pep Guardiola’s men could push City out of the top five while keeping the pressure on Chelsea at the top.

Part of the reason City have looked out of sorts is that they’ve been unlucky with the schedule: four of their last five games across all competitions have been away, and they’ve won each of their last three at home in the league. Neither team has been particularly dominant against top-six sides of late – Man City have gone W2-D2-L6 across their last 10 and Spurs have gone W4-D2-L4 across the same period – but Spurs are definitely the form team coming into this encounter, having won seven on the trot across all competitions. What’s more, they’ve also won their last three against City and this looks an excellent opportunity to extend that impressive record.

Man City are strong at home, but they’ve looked very fragile at the back and could be vulnerable to the twin threats of Dele Alli and Harry Kane. We think the Spurs Win looks a great price at 3.4.
