After a run of just one win in five games, Lyon have found some form in recent weeks, winning their last three to move back up to 4th and secure Europa League qualification. Nice, on the other hand, have struggled since their impressive victory over PSG, losing their last two, the same number of matches they’ve been beaten in all season prior to that, though they are assured of 3rd.
Lyon have won 12 of their 18 home games this term and there have generally been goals when they’ve played at the Parc OL as both teams netted in 11 of these, 14 had more than two goals while 10 saw more than three. They’ve lost 2-1 against both PSG and Monaco, whilst they were also beaten 3-1 by 6th-placed Bordeaux and so we’re reluctant to back them at 1.67, despite their improved form.
Nice have managed draws at PSG and Bordeaux this term, but they have conceded at least twice in their three trips to top-five sides so far. As a result, we expect there to be goals here, particularly since Lyon have shipped eight in their last three at home. Indeed, as six of Lyon’s last seven on their own patch have seen more than three strikes, we’re backing Over 3.5 Goals in what should be an entertaining encounter.
