Leipzig v Eintracht Frankfurt

The winter break probably came at a good time for Leipzig as they lost two of their last three games in the run-up to Christmas, having been unbeaten prior to that. As a result, they’ve dropped down to 2nd, three points behind Bayern. Eintracht are also having an excellent season as they’re up in 4th, having narrowly avoided relegation last term.
Leipzig have won six of seven unbeaten home games, despite the fact that they’ve kept only two clean sheets in these. However, both those clean sheets came in their only home games against top-six sides to date as they beat both Dortmund and Hertha without conceding. They were tight affairs as they edged out Dortmund 1-0 and beat Hertha 2-0 in their last home game and we expect something similar here, particularly with Emil Forsberg, the man with the most assists in the division, suspended for the hosts.
Frankfurt have had a fairly lenient away schedule to date as they’ve already travelled to seven of the current bottom-eight, with their only other away game a 1-0 loss at Freiburg. Indeed, all three of their away defeats this term have been by 1-0 scorelines, whilst they lost and failed to score at four of the top-five last term. While the hosts certainly look a backable price at 1.65, our standout selection is the Leipzig win and Under 2.5 Goals at 3.5 as we certainly expect Eintracht to fall away in the second half of the season as they face a much tougher schedule.
