Leicester v Manchester City
17.30 - 10/11/2016 - King Power Stadium
Gary Lineker pointed out on Twitter this week that Leicester thrived with Kante while Chelsea struggled without him last season, and that their fortunes have reversed dramatically since the Frenchman’s summer move. The champions certainly lack a tireless midfield workhorse this season, and they will be hard pressed to hold at bay a Man City side that will be kicking themselves after their loss of discipline cost them a crucial three points against Chelsea last weekend.
Neither of these teams thrived midweek: Man City were held to a draw by Celtic at the Etihad, while Leicester suffered the ignominy of a 5-0 drubbing against Porto. More concerning for Leicester will be the fact that Man City have won six of their seven away games this term, while Leicester have now conceded in seven straight Premier League games: even without the banned
Sergio Aguero, Man City will be a major threat to a side that has gone W1-D4-L3 in their last eight home games against top-six sides. The absence of Aguero shouldn’t bother Man City too much: they’ve gone W7-D3-L2 in the last 12 matches he’s missed and in Iheanacho they have an able replacement.
Question marks remain over Claudio Bravo’s performances between the sticks for Man City, so it’s no surprise to see that Man City have kept only one clean sheet in their last 14 matches. With that in mind, we think that Man City to win and Both teams to Score is a decent bet.
