Leicester v Chelsea

17.30 - 14/1/2017 - King Power Stadium, Leicester

After losing to Spurs to snap their incredible winning streak in the league, all eyes will be on Chelsea in the late kick-off on Saturday as they travel to Leicester. The Foxes successfully reversed their league loss to Everton in the cup fixture between the two sides last weekend, and they’ll have no fear about a visit from the league leaders: they stunned Man City 4-2 and held Arsenal to a goalless draw at home earlier in the season, so they will fancy themselves against another strong side.

Chelsea haven’t lost to a bottom-six side this season, and look unlikely to break that hot streak against a side they’ve beaten twice already this season. Leicester have lost three of their last six home games to top-half sides, and Chelsea’s 4-2 victory over Stoke was the first time they’d conceded against a bottom-half side since their 2-2 draw away at Swansea early in the season. Leicester are without Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani (both of whom are away on international duty), so they’ll find it hard to break down a disciplined Chelsea back line.

It’s hard to ignore the fact that Leicester have not lost at home to a top-six side since their loss to Arsenal early last season, but without several key players, it’s hard to back them to win. Instead, we’ll focus on the fact that three of their last five such matches and each of Chelsea’s last three against bottom-six sides has seen fewer than three goals; we can see that happening again here.
