Following their Champions League miracle in midweek, Barca have to bring themselves back down to earth as they travel to Deportivo, now as league leaders in what’s been a remarkable turnaround for the Catalans in the last few weeks. Depor managed a draw at home to Betis last time out, meaning they’re unbeaten in three and up to 16th.
Depor have lost only two of their last nine at home and haven’t been beaten by more than one goal all season, so we expect this to be tight. They’ve managed draws over Atletico and Villarreal, while they were unable to hold on to lead against Sevilla and went on to lose 3-2. They’ve also led at the break in seven of their last 10 at home, whilst they haven’t trailed at the half in any of these.
Barca have been held to draws in three of their last seven on the road, whilst they’ve been level at the break in six of their last eight on their travels. We’re backing the half time draw here as we expect them to take a while to kick into gear after the high of their win in midweek, whilst we wouldn’t put anyone off siding with Depor +2 on the handicap at 2.2.
