Crystal Palace v Everton
15:00 - 21/1/17 - Selhurst Park, South London
Everton pulled off a stunning win against Man City last weekend to inflict Pep Guardiola’s heaviest ever league defeat, and they have a great chance to establish some momentum when they travel to play Crystal Palace on Saturday. Palace have not won in their last seven in the league, and they have a replay against Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday evening to contest before they welcome the Toffees to Selhurst Park.
Crystal Palace’s record against top-half teams this season is fairly weak: they’ve lost five of their last six against such teams, with the exception a 3-0 home win over Southampton in early December. That win was the only time they’ve picked up points at home in the league since September, but they’ve lost five of the seven home games in that stretch by just one goal, so if Everton win it’s likely to be by a narrow margin. Everton have lost only once in their seven games against bottom-six sides this season, and the four wins in that period have been to nil. The Toffees are finding some form, and don’t have the additional pressure of a cup tie with a depleted squad like West Ham do. As such, we think that 2.3 looks like a great price for an Everton win.
