Celta Vigo v Real Madrid Betting Tips

Betting Tips by The Set Pieces

Celta Vigo continue to struggle as they slumped to their fifth defeat on the bounce, this time going down 3-1 at Alaves , meaning they’ve dropped down to 13th. Real Madrid, on the other hand, continue to march towards the La Liga title after their 4-1 win over Sevilla, a result which means they need four points from their last two games to lift the title for the first time since 2011/12.

Celta have shipped nine goals in their last three and that doesn’t bode well ahead of a visit from the side that crossed the 100 goal mark in the league against Sevilla. Celta have lost and failed to score in their last three at the Balaidos and whilst they beat Barcelona there early on in the season, they’ve lost and failed to score in the other five visits from top-eight sides, including a 4-0 defeat against Atletico and a 3-0 losses against Sevilla and Bilbao.

Real remain vulnerable defensively as their only clean sheet in their last eight came against bottom of the league Granada, but given they’ve netted 26 goals themselves in that time, they haven’t really had to worry about defending. That clean sheet at Granada was their first in 11 on the road, but given Celta’s lack of goals at the moment, we’re reluctant to back the away win and both teams to score. Instead, since Real have scored at least four in three of their last four on the road and Celta have been poor defensively, we’re backing Over 3.5 Real Madrid goals.

Recommendation: Over 3.5 Real Madrid Goals at 2.25
