Burnley v Leicester
15:00
Burnley continued their impressive home record with a simple enough 2-0 victory over Bristol City in the FA Cup. It was their eighth victory in nine at Turf Moor in all competitions, with their only defeat in the sequence against Man City. Their recent home matches have also had an ‘overs’ trend, something not often associated with Burnley, as five of their last seven have seen at least three strikes. The two that didn’t were against Boro and Southampton, two stubborn sides, but with a leaky Leicester defence visiting it could be another open game.
The Clarets are the only side with a worse record on the road than Leicester this term. The Foxes have lost eight of 11 winless matches away from the King Power as they’ve conceded at least twice in eight of these, resulting in each of these featuring more than three strikes. With Mahrez and Slimani returning from the Cup of Nations, they should be more penetrative going forward, making over 2.5 goals an appealing bet at 2.2.
Given their respective home and away records it’s slightly strange to see Leicester as favourites. Turf Moore is somewhat of a fortress at the moment and the Clarets look good value for the win. However, Leicester are the Champions and it’s only a matter of time until they improve their performances on the road so we’ll keep the draw onside. Back Burnley on the draw not bet.
