Burnley v Bournemouth
15:00 - 10/12/16 - Turf Moor
Bournemouth secured a thrilling 4-3 home win over Liverpool last weekend, overcoming a two goal deficit for the first time in the Premier League. This week they travel north to take on Burnley, who have stumbled badly in their last few games; Bournemouth gaffer Eddie Howe will hope to draw on the knowledge of the club he gained while manager there in between his two spell at Bournemouth.
Burnley could really use a home win this weekend as they seek to maintain the distance between themselves and the drop zone, and they will be aware that their only two home defeats since the first day of the season have come against Arsenal and Man City – Bournemouth should prove a more manageable challenge. They’ve won both matches they’ve played at home against middle-third teams this season (against Watford and Palace), but they’ve conceded eight and scored just once in their past three league games. Bournemouth will thus fancy their chances, but having kept just one clean sheet in their last 10 away games versus bottom-half teams, they may struggle to keep Burnley at bay.
The Cherries have never won at Turf Moor, and despite their efforts last weekend, we think they may struggle, especially if Tom Heaton can recover in time to reclaim his spot between the sticks for the hosts. In any case, we back the Claret and Blues to return to form, but Bournemouth have been scoring freely: Burnley and Both Teams to Score seems long at 7.
