Bournemouth v Watford
15:00 - 21/1/17 - Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth
Bournemouth will have been frustrated by their 3-1 defeat away at Hull last weekend, and they will be aware that a loss against Watford will see them sliding further down a congested mid-table. The Hornets could only scrape a 0-0 draw against Middlesbrough at the Riverside, extending their run without a win in the league to six games. Walter Mazzarri’s men still have a healthy seven-point cushion between them and the relegation zone, but the Italian remains the favourite for next Premier League manager to leave his post – he will be desperate for a result this weekend.
Bournemouth’s loss to Southampton snapped a five-match unbeaten streak against middle-third opposition stretching back to last season, but the more worrying trend for them will be their weakness at the back. They have conceded three goals in five of their last six matches across all competition, losing four and winning just once in that stretch (against Swansea on New Year’s Eve).
That, together with the fact that five of Watford’s last six matches against middle-third sides have seen more than two goals, means that there’s a good chance of this being a goal-fest. Over 2.5 Goals is worth backing at 1.91, while Over 3.5 is also of interest at 3.2.
