Gladbach had won five of six heading into their trip to Hamburg, but they were beaten 2-1 and so remain in 9th. Bayern, meanwhile, made it three wins on the bounce as they beat Frankfurt at the Allianz and they’ve scored 14 unanswered goals during that winning run to streak 10 points clear at the top of the table.
For all their struggles this term, Gladbach have lost only three of their 12 home games and just four of their last 27 at Borussia-Park. Within that run there was a 3-1 win over Bayern themselves last term and they’ve in fact lost only one of their five meetings with the Bavarians since 2014/15, so with Gladbach’s improved form in recent weeks, we’re looking to take Ancelotti’s men on.
Bayern have picked up only two points from their three trips to top-six sides to date and while Gladbach don’t currently occupy a spot in the top six, they’ve bared much closer resemblance to the side that finished 4th last term in recent weeks. Bayern have kept only three clean sheets in their last 10 away, whilst they’ve won just two of their six on the road by more than one goal. With that in mind, Gladbach look a solid bet +2 on the handicap at 1.7, but we’re going to side with them on the double chance.
