Bologna were unable to follow up back-to-back victories as they lost 1-0 at Fiorentina and so they remain in 14th, the same place they finished last term. Roma kept up some of the pressure on Juve as they beat Empoli while the league leaders drew at Napoli. The gap at the top has now been reduced to six points and Juve still have to travel to Roma.
After four straight home defeats, Bologna bounced back with a 4-1 win over Chievo in their last game at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.
