Bayern already have the Bundesliga title sewn up but they proved that the desire to win is still there as they came from 4-2 down at Leipzig to win 5-4, thanks to three goals in the last six minutes. Freiburg played out a more low-key 1-1 draw at home to relegated Ingolstadt, which means their hold of the final Europa League spot looks vulnerable given the difficulty of this fixture and the proximity of the likes of Koln and Bremen.
Bayern have won 12 of 16 unbeaten home games this term, leading at the break in the last seven of these victories and keeping a clean sheet in six of their last nine at the Allianz. That, together with the nature of their victory at Leipzig suggests that the Bavarians should prove a tough proposition for Freiburg in what will be their lap of honour in front of their own fans after yet another league success.
Freiburg have lost all four of their trips to sides above them in the table so far and whilst they scored in the three of these that were earlier on in the season, they failed to score in the most recent of these as they went down 3-0 at Leipzig and followed that with a 3-0 loss at bottom of the league Darmstadt in their last road game. They were 2-0 down at the break in both of these defeats and since Bayern have led by that scoreline in two of their last five at home, as well as backing the home win to nil, we’re going to take a chance on Bayern being 2-0 up at the break at 5.0.
