Barca’s title challenge was dealt a severe blow as they were beaten 2-1 at Deportivo and with Real netting a late winner against Betis, Los Blancos are two points clear at the top with a game in hand. Valencia, meanwhile, were held to a draw at home to Gijon and so remain in 13th.
Barca have won their last six at the Nou Camp, leading at the break in each of these victories and scoring 25 goals in the process. However, they lost this fixture 2-1 last season and they’ve beaten Valencia by more than one goal in only one of their nine league meetings since 2012/13, so we’re not particularly keen on backing the Catalans at 1.13.
Valencia have managed some impressive results against the top teams this term, beating Real Madrid at home and Villarreal away, whilst Atletico are the only top-six side to have beaten them by more than one , despite the fact that they’ve already gone to the likes of Sevilla, and Bilbao. We’re siding with Los Che on the +3 handicap.
