Barcelona v Leganes
15:00
After their harrowing defeat against PSG in the Champions League, Barca face a much simpler test on the face of it as they host Leganes, who are down in 17th after their third defeat on the bounce. Barca, conversely, have won four of five unbeaten league games, netting 18 goals in their victories, though they still trail Real by a point, whilst Los Blancos also have two games in hand.
Barca managed only three wins in their opening seven home games, but they’ve won their last three at the Camp Nou, scoring 12 goals whilst conceding only one. Barca have won 30 of 32 unbeaten home games against bottom-six sides since 2011/12, leading at the break in 27 whilst averaging four goals per game and keeping 20 clean sheets, including in each of the last five.
Leganes have failed to score in five of their last six and after three wins in their opening four away games, they’ve since picked up only two points on the road. They’ve lost 3-0 at Real and 2-0 at Atletico and we expect something similar here. Central midfielder David Timor is out and Leganes have managed just one goal in the five games he’s missed this term. We’re backing Barca to cover the -2 handicap, with the 3-0 and 4-0 correct scores both worth backing at 6.5.
