Atletico look to have finally found some form as they beat Gijon 4-1 and won the first leg of their Champions League tie at Leverkusen 4-2. Barca, conversely, were thumped 4-0 at PSG in the Champions League and took until the 90th minute to find a winner at home to lowly Leganes, to remain six points ahead of Atletico in 4th.
Atletico have won their last four at home, keeping three clean sheets in these, whilst they’ve lost only two of their 30 home matches since the start of last season. They have lost four of their five home games with Barca in all competitions since 2014/15 but this is arguably the Catalans’ worst period under Enrique, who looks to be moving on at the end of the season.
The Catalans have won only three of their last six on the road and have a W2-D2-L1 record when travelling to top-half sides so far this term, keeping just one clean sheet in these.
