Arsenal v Burnley Betting Tips

Arsenal have rebounded well from a disappointing loss to Man City the week before Christmas, and seek a fifth win in six in all competitions when they welcome Burnley to the Emirates this Sunday. Burnley successfully dispatched Sunderland in their FA Cup replay on Tuesday, but their away record this season remains atrocious: they’ve lost eight of their last nine league road games, and they’re coming up against a side that has scored at least two in each of their last four games. As such, this could be a long afternoon for the Clarets.

The headline stat for Burnley is that they’ve been weak away against top-six teams. Despite going into half time with scores level on two of the three occasions they’ve visited top-six sides this season, they’ve lost all three games. On the plus side, they’ve got on the scoresheet in five of the last six games they’ve played against top-six sides at all venues and Arsenal have conceded in five of the last seven they’ve played against middle-third sides, so they stand a good chance of finding the net. However, Arsenal have not lost at home to a middle-third side at the Emirates since Chelsea beat them 1-0 there last season, so they will be expecting to secure three points at home.

Arsenal should take this, but Burnley can be dogged opposition, and Arsenal have been level with their opponents at half time in their three home games against middle-third teams this season. Consequently, 4.2 looks like a good price for Draw/Arsenal.
