A weekend of Premier League action can’t go by at the moment without a flurry of penalties being awarded. So it got us wondering about who’d netted the most spot kicks since 1992. Then we decided it’d make a great quiz question.
So after scouring the stats, we identified the 29 most-successful penalty takers and have set you the challenge of naming them. Some of the usual suspects are there, as you’d expect (although surprisingly not Bruno Fernandes… yet), but also some names that don’t immediately jump to mind.
Each of our spot-kick sensations have netted at least 16 times after stepping up in the Premier League era, so your memory will surely have visions of them running off celebrating in there somewhere. Good luck!
