The Set Odds’ 4-4-2 System: Post-Weekend Review [Week 32]

Hello all,

The snow wreaked havoc with the football fixtures over the weekend and some under par performances ruined the rest of the bets.

It was a betting weekend to forget – and I’m blaming Jack Frost!

Sadly, even though the snow took out a lot of the selections in my six markets there was at least one still running in each so none were voided. This could’ve led to some winners but it wasn’t to be.

Jamie Vardy was the only remainder of the Anytime Goalscorer Treble but he somehow failed to net against a usually-leaky Bournemouth defence.

I needed Derby to draw against Fulham in the Draw Double – reduced to just that game as a single – but they continued their traditional end of season capitulation by going down 2-1.

In the accas, Leicester, Millwall and Southend all let me down in what looked like very winnable home games.

The BTTS 4fold turned into a double and I just needed an MK Dons goal to rescue some weekend funds but it was s-nowhere to be seen.

To make matters worse I forked out £43 booking the 10.23 from Euston to Brum to get me to the Villa game only for the match to be cancelled, but the train wasn’t.

Had I booked the 10.03 – which was axed – a full refund would be heading my way. It was just one of those weekend’s I’m afraid!

Then the dull Man City v Chelsea affair on Sunday wasn’t much better. I tipped Leroy Sane to net first at 15/2 and he had one cleared off the line in the first half.

I’ve backed City Draw at HT, win at FT in the last two matches so went Win/Win this time, and of course they waited until seconds into the second half to get the only goal of the game.

Anyhow, with winners at 431/1, 10/1, 11/2, 21/4, 9/2, 9/2, 14/5, and 6/5 in February I can forgive March a slow start.

This week sees the return of the Champions League and, weather-permitting, there is a full Championship fixture list, so I will be putting up a bonus column to cover those games.

On Monday it’s Crystal Palace v Man United and I fancy in-form Romelu Lukaku to grab the opener. He’s 4/1 at Bet365 (bet HERE), which looks decent enough to chuck 1pt at!

The Set Odds’ Betting System profit/loss 2017/18 = +117.25pts
