Hull City vs Southampton

2.15pm – 6.11.16

Things are going from bad to worse for Hull as an unfortunate 82nd minute Michael Dawson own-goal condemned them to their sixth straight defeat. Despite losing it was a much improved defensive effort from Mike Phelan’s side, who had shipped 19 goals in their five previous outings. Getting Dawson playing regularly is going to be key for their survival hopes as they certainly look a far more solid side when he is partnering Curtis Davis at the back.

Southampton’s unbeaten run of five in the league came was brought to an end by a very efficient Chelsea side last weekend, however, they bounced back impressively to earn a famous win over Inter Milan on Thursday night. Their form on the road reads W1-D2-L2 but they’ve had some tough fixtures as they’ve already gone to both Manchester clubs, Arsenal and Leicester.

A visit to the KCOM stadium certainly represents Saints’ easiest road assignment to date. The Tigers won on the opening day but have since lost all four at home, finding the net just once in this time. Southampton may look a short price here at 1.7 but they were odds-on away just three times last year and won all three. Given Hull’s inefficiencies in front of goal, a Saints win to nil looks the best bet.

Best Bet: Southampton to Win to Nil at 2.6
