Hello and happy new year!
Thanks for joining me for the 2017 tips, it’s not gone as well as the last few seasons I’ve had of betting but there’s still half a campaign to put that right.
That nearly began with Saturday’s 270/1 Lucas Joao which was mightily close to coming in and landing us a return of 135pts.
Not as close as the 8/1 Win 5fold was though. Sheffield United’s shock home defeat against Bolton put paid to some festive funds, which would’ve been an 18pts return and 14.5pts of profit on the day.
Never mind, there’s always Monday’s New Year’s Day fixtures to try to right some wrongs.
The only tricky thing about this time of year is managers like to get resty with some of their precious players so we cannot guarantee exactly who will be playing.
This week’s Win 5fold will return as two-figure odds if it lands and that’s with three Draw No Bets in there, so I’m hoping to kick 2018 off with a bang!
Leicester and Leeds should be able to get the better of Huddersfield and Nottingham Forest on their own patches respectively.
And then it’s down to in-form Derby to defeat an out-of-sorts Sheffield United, Shrewsbury to out-smart Oldham, and Colchester to crush Cambridge, with all three of those fancied teams at home.
In contrast to the last blog, there are a fair few matches I fancy goals in on New Year’s Day but I have gone with four fixtures for the BTTS Acca, three from League One and one in League Two, including the big game of the day, Luton v Lincoln.
One of these days the Lucas Joao will land and it would be lovely if the success came on Monday, because the bet is a huge 392/1 this week.
Thanks again for your support throughout 2017 – see you in 2018!
