Arsenal vs Tottenham

12.00pm – 6.11.16

Arsenal qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League with a dramatic comeback at Ludogorets and as a result they’ve stretched their unbeaten run to 15 games in all competitions, winning 10 of the last 11 of these. Their attacking form must be particularly pleasing for Wenger as they’ve netted 18 in their last six, with Alexis Sanchez the standout player. For years Gunners fans have moaned about Wenger not buying a striker but it turns out buying a new one wasn’t the answer. The Chilean’s move to centre-forward has been one of the triumphs of the campaign and with Giroud returning in good form it means they have options aplenty up front.

Tottenham are on a winless streak that now stretches to six games in all competitions, though four of these games were drawn. They are the only side to remain unbeaten in the Premier League, but are down in 5th because they’re unable to convert enough chances to turn draws into victories. This is where Harry Kane has been sorely missed and even if he starts here he’s unlikely to be 100% match fit.

Under Pochettino, Spurs have become a very difficult side to beat, losing just six in the league since the start of last term, whilst against their North London rivals they’re unbeaten under the Argentine in the league. Three of these four encounters were draws and it’s certainly an option again given Arsenal have drawn eight of their last 15 against fellow top-six opposition at home. However, this Gunners side are operating at a much higher level than they’ve done for number of seasons and look a great price at around the even money mark.
