Angers v PSG
15:00
PSG secured a domestic treble in both 2014/15 and 2015/16 but the best they can hope for this time around is a double having already secured the Coupe de la Ligue but missing out to Monaco in the league. Angers stand in the way of their double but having only finished 12th in the league and benefited from a pretty soft draw in this competition, they’re 18/1 underdogs here, particularly as the game is also being played in Paris, albeit at the Stade de France rather than the Parc des Princes.
After a run of five defeats in six winless matches, Angers signed off with wins in their final two league games, including a 2-0 victory at Nice. That came after a run of seven straight defeats against top-four sides, but they proved tough to break down for the league’s strongest sides despite the poor results as they didn’t concede more than twice in any of these eight games, with five of their seven defeats by either 1-0 or 2-0 scorelines.
Indeed, PSG beat them 2-0 at home and away and we could see something similar. The Parisians are yet to concede a goal in the Coupe de France and have shut out their opponents in four of their last six in all competitions, though they haven’t been as prolific in front of goal under Emery and so we expect them to have to work hard to breach Angers’ defence. No Coupe de France final since 1995 has been won by more than two goals, with four of the last six being ending with either 1-0 or 2-0 scorelines and so we’re backing a PSG win and Under 2.5 Goals.
PSG Win and Under 2.5 Goals at 3.5
