Crystal Palace v Tottenham Betting Tips

Betting Tips by The Set Pieces

Crystal Palace’s charmed run continued at the weekend as Christian Benteke’s brace powered the Eagles past the Belgian’s former club. They’ve moved from 19th to 12th in their last eight games, but may find their momentum halted somewhat by Spurs, who visit them midweek. The North London outfit will be smarting after their cup semi-final loss to title rivals Chelsea, and will look to prevent Chelsea from growing their lead at the top of the table.

The problem for Spurs is that their away form in the league has been unspectacular. They’ve dropped points in three of their last five away games in the league, drawing five of their 11 away games against teams outside the top five this season. They’ve got the second-best away defensive record in the league, but with Benteke in sparkling form we think they might find it hard to keep Palace at bay. The Eagles have lost all five at home to top-seven sides this season, but with four of those only coming by a one-goal margin and Palace netting the final goal in seven of their last eight we think they’re in with a sniff here.

Spurs’ inconsistent form on the road means we’re reluctant to back them away from home. In fact, what sticks out is the possibility of Benteke scoring again, as he has done in four of Palace’s last five games. We’ll back him to find the net at 2/1.

Benteke to score anytime at 3.0
