Juventus v Porto Betting Tips

Betting Tips by The Set Pieces

Juventus took advantage of an early red card shown to Alex Telles to take the first leg 2-0 and as a result are in a commanding to position to make it through to the quarters. Since their triumph in Portugal they’ve won three of four unbeaten games, including against Napoli in the Coppa Italia and at home to Milan in the league last time out. Porto have bounced back strongly from the defeat against the Old Lady, winning their three league games since by an aggregate of 12-0.

Juve’s last home defeat came way back in August 2015, some 46 games ago. They’ve won their last 13 at Juventus Stadium whilst conceding only seven goals, which reflects the size of Porto’s task here. In the Champions League, they’ve won eight of 13 unbeaten home games since 2014/15, though they have drawn four of the last six of these.

No side has ever progressed after a 2-0 deficit from a home leg, though they have avoided defeat in four of nine 2nd legs since 2010/11 (W1-D3-L5). Porto have lost only four of their 14 Champions League away games since 2013/14, so they may at least have a chance of salvaging some pride. They drew five of these games and given Juve’s strong draw trend at home in this competition in recent times, the stalemate looks a touch of value at 3.75.

Recommendation: Draw at 3.75
