West Ham v West Brom
15:00 - 11/2/2016 - London Stadium, East London
West Brom ground out a home win over Stoke last time out, but the West Ham side they visit bested Southampton with ease, and have now lost only to the two Manchester sides in their last five outings at home – just five points separate them in ninth and their visitors this week in eighth.
West Brom’s form against middle-third sides has been very good this season. They’ve now gone unbeaten in their last six against middle-third sides, winning five on the bounce, which should give them confidence despite their poor away record against all teams recently – they’ve lost only once in their last six in the league, and it is now a question of turning solid form at home into good results on the road. West Ham have gone W3-D1-L4 in their last eight against middle-third sides, but they’re undefeated in their last four such games, so they’ll feel they have the edge despite several absences.
In this one we’ll go for a winning margin of one goal. Five of West Brom’s last eight away games have had a one-goal margin of victory, and West Ham haven’t had a draw in the league since early December, so we think one side will edge it in what is sure to be a tight encounter between two in-form sides.
