Man Utd went through to the League Cup final despite a 2-1 loss in the second leg of the semi-final at the KCOM Stadium last week, and they meet again in this midweek fixture round. Jose Mourinho’s side responded to the defeat with an expectedly dominant 4-0 win over Wigan in the FA Cup, though their 13 game unbeaten run in the top-flight hasn’t been enough to see them higher than sixth, propping up the mini-league being fought by the top six.

Hull have won three of their six matches across all competition since Marco Silva took the reins, a noticeable improvement on their previous form, but two of these victories came in cup competition, including the aforementioned win over Man Utd. However, the Portuguese did see his side beat Bournemouth, whilst the Tigers were always likely to come off second best away to Chelsea.

Man Utd have failed to win the first half in four consecutive top-flight matches now, trailing at the break against Stoke and Liverpool in their last two, and we think Hull can hold out until half-time here. The Tigers have drawn the first half in six of their last 10 across all competitions, only trailing at the break twice, and have conceded just three first half goals in their last seven across all competitions despite playing Man Utd twice as well as Chelsea in that time.

Recommendation: Half-Time Draw at 3.09
