Palermo’s 4-1 defeat at Sassuolo was their 11th in their last 13 games as they remain down in 18th, now eight points from safety. At the other end of the table, Inter continue to thrive under new manager Stefano Pioli as their 3-1 win against Chievo was their fifth on the bounce and so they’ve moved up to 6th, just five points off Napoli in 3rd.
Palermo picked up their first home point in their last game at the Stadio Renzo Barbera, but it came against bottom of the league Pescara and since they went 1-0 up, they probably should have taken all three points. They’ve hosted four of the sides above Inter, losing by just a single goal against Lazio, Milan and Juve, though Napoli were comfy 0-3 winners earlier on in the season.
Inter have won their last two on the road and while they’ve managed just 11 wins in their 29 away games since the start of last term, they’ve generally been pretty adept at winning at the lesser sides.
