Celta Vigo v Malaga

After an excellent season last term that saw them finish up in 6th, Celta are struggling in 13th this time around, having won only six of their 16 games so far. Malaga are also not faring as well as last season, when they finished 8th, as they find themselves in 11th and have struggled defensively, keeping just two clean sheets.
Celta are also without a clean sheet in 10 and are yet to shut out their opponents at home, despite winning five of their last six at the Balaidos. However, four of those victories were against teams currently in the bottom six and so we’re looking to take the hosts on at 1.91, particularly with defender Roncaglia suspended for this one. Celta have shipped nine goals in the two games the Argentine has failed to start this term in defeats at home to Atletico and at Villarreal.
While Malaga aren’t at the level of the aforementioned sides and haven’t won in 11 on the road, we think the can do enough to pick up a point. They drew at Barcelona back in November and have lost just two of their last five on the road, at Sevilla and Atletico. They’ve lost only three of their last eight meetings with Celta and so we’re going to back the stalemate here at 3.6.
