Chelsea v Burnley
Chelsea fans will be feel mightily lucky to have gained six points from their opening two matches given their winning goals came via Diego Costa strikes in the 87th and 89th minutes against West Ham and Watford. Despite their abject performances so far they are no bigger than 1.30 to beat new-boys Burnley who come here fresh from a 2-0 victory over Liverpool. The Spaniard is 1.80 to net again.
Prior to last season’s ‘blip’ Chelsea had an imperious record against promoted teams. From 2011/12-2014/15 they won 10 of 12 unbeaten matches hosting such sides with seven HT/FT W/W doubles. Burnley will be hoping their away form is better this season than when they came up a couple of years back. In 2014/15 their stint in the top-division lasted just one term as they lost 11 of their 19 away games while trailing at the break 13 times.
Chelsea to be winning at 45 and 90 minutes looks a great bet at 1.85 but given his hot start to the season we prefer Costa to extend his impressive record of opening the scoring in three of his past five home starts against promoted opposition.
Recommendations: Costa to Score First 4.00
