Goals, goals, goals. It’s what we all really like to see most when we’re settling down for a big game and there’s no doubting some players have a much better knack of finding the net than others.
The best goalscorers can do it over several years, notching season after season after season. And that’s no different in a major tournament, with the cream regularly rising to the top every four (or five) years to top the scoring charts.
But while it’s easy to reel off the names of some of the World Cup’s top scorers since it began, the European Championships have an eclectic list of marksmen gathering at the top of its all-time highest goal-getters.
