The What
You’ll know us as a football blog but recently we’ve had our fingers in a few other proverbial pies. And you’re probably more than aware our geekery knows no bounds, especially when it comes to relishing sporting trivia.
The Opportunity
This proverbial pie comes in a Nordic guise (a smörgåsbord of pies?) – an opportunity to offer some of our footballing wisdom to a group of people creating a microsite dedicated to football and sporting data (among a few other things).
So allow us to introduce Nordscape – a data visualisation website which looks at Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland under the themes of football, the Winter Olympics and lifestyle, as well as a head-to-head take on how they like to spend their money at the bookies. The data is broken down into bite-sized stories and visualised through imagery, charts and graphs.

The Who (Nope, not them)
We introduced this as ‘The Nordic Bits and Set Pieces’ and, while you’ve probably accurately deduced that we’re the ‘Pieces’, who are the ‘Bits’?
Well, here’s where we introduce NordicBet, who we’ve partnered with for this project. Founded in February 2002 NordicBet was borne out a passion for local Nordic sports as well as global competitions. While everyone was covering the English Premier League, tennis, NBA and NHL, no one was giving Nordic players betting on their local sports – the sports they grew up with and the leagues they watch live – any attention. And that’s where NordicBet came in.
Are you Finnished Yet?
Almost.
If you’re a writer or Nordi-phile and are keen to share some of Nordscape’s content on your website or social media and want more information, then get in touch with Heather who’s got the lowdown on this thing: [email protected]
