Tottenham v Bournemouth

12.30 - 15/4/2017 - White Hart Lane, North London

Son Heung-Min was dominant once again for Spurs as they romped to a 4-0 win over Watford, their 11th straight home victory and seventh clean sheet in that run. White Hart Lane remains a fortress for Tottenham, and Bournemouth will be apprehensive ahead of their second trip to the capital in as many weeks – their previous game brought a 3-1 loss to Chelsea. While they had enjoyed a five-game unbeaten run prior to that, they will be hard pressed to take anything away from a clash with a Spurs side that loves playing on home turf.

The main concern for Bournemouth will be their away form. The Cherries secured creditable away draws against Liverpool, Southampton and Man United recently, but they’ve beaten only Swansea on the road since late November, recording six losses in that time despite scoring in five of those defeats. They have the third-worst defensive record in the league, so it’s no surprise to see that seven of their last nine on the road have gone over 2.5 goals. Given that Spurs have netted at least twice in 10 of their last 11 at home (all of which have been victories), we think a high-scoring game could be on the cards.

Spurs need to keep winning at home to have any hope of winning the league, and we think they’ll do so convincingly against a Bournemouth side that’s been weak on the road, but we fancy the Cherries to nick a goal. With this in mind, Tottenham and Over 3.5 has potential.
