Lorient slumped to their fourth defeat on the bounce as they were beaten 4-1 at home by Marseille and so they remain bottom, now six points from safety. PSG, meanwhile, were made to work hard for their 1-0 win at home to Nancy, though they remain 2nd and three points off Monaco. As a result, they can’t afford a drop-off after their Champions League heartbreak and so will have to bounce back strongly here.
After a run of three straight home wins, Lorient have since picked up only one point from their last four at the Stade du Moustoir. They’ve lost 3-0 at home to Monaco and 1-0 against Nice, while they’ve now been behind at the break in their last five at home. As such, both the PSG win to nil and the HT/FT are of interest here.
The former has copped in three of PSG’s last five on the road, while the latter has paid out in four and so they both look like good bets here. The Parisians have won their last nine trips to bottom-six sides, though they led at the break in only four of these but kept a clean sheet in six, never conceding more than once. With that in mind, we’re backing the PSG win to nil at 2.2 at a bigger price that the HT/FT double, which is currently 1.85.
