Promoted Leganes are making a decent fist of their first ever La Liga season as they find themselves in 16th, four points clear of the relegation zone as their loss at Real Betis in their last game was only their second in their last six. Bilbao, meanwhile, are 7th after their goalless draw at home to Alaves as they’ve won just three of their last nine.
Leganes are unbeaten in three at home as they’ve toppled strugglers Osasuna and managed draws against Villarreal and Eibar. However, they’d lost four on the bounce prior to that at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque and have a number of injury concerns at the moment. Their first choice and backup keeper are both out, as are defensive midfielder Alberto Martin and left-back Diego Rico, while their first choice right-back is a doubt and the reserve is suspended, and top-scorer Szymanowski’s participation is also uncertain.
Bilbao are winless in five on the road, but they have won five of their nine trips to bottom-six teams since the start of last season, losing just two of these. As such they look a fair price at 2.4, given Leganes’s selection issues at the moment. The men from the Basque Country have no such injury concerns and so we expect them to get back to winning ways on the road.
