If this game is half as good as the earlier edition at the Etihad neutrals won’t be disappointed. In a fast, frenzied match Chelsea came out on top despite being second best for most of the game. That win seemed to install a sense of belief in Antonio Conte’s team which they carried through with barely a blip until this past weekend when they slipped up at home to a Big Sam-inspired Crystal Palace. Viewers of that match will note Chelsea’s dominance however and they could have quite easily won the game after going behind had Diego Costa not looked like last season’s version of himself.
City are unbeaten in eight in the league now but they continue to struggle for consistency in games which has led them to draw their last three. They are at times quite brilliant, best evidenced by their immediate response to Arsenal’s first equaliser on Sunday, but then do little for large periods in matches.
19 of City’s Premier League games under Pep have featured at least three goals as did six of their eight Champions League matches. Similarly, 19 of Chelsea’s fixtures this term have had Over 2.5 Goals. There were a whole host of chances in Chelsea’s 2-1 win at City, we expect the same again here.
