Bilbao suffered their first defeat in six as they were beaten 3-0 at the Nou Camp and so drop down to 9th, seven points off Atletico in 4th. Deportivo, meanwhile, were beaten for the first time in five as they lost 3-1 at Eibar and so they go down to 15th, but they’re six points clear of the relegation zone with a game in hand on the current bottom three.
After defeat against Barca in their opening home game of the season, Bilbao have since gone 10 unbeaten at the San Mames Stadium, winning seven of these games. They’re W10-D4-L0 when hosting bottom-half sides since the start of last season and so they look a fair price at 1.65. However, they’ve managed only one clean sheet in the four of those games that were this season and so Deportivo will fancy their chances of at least getting a goal.
Despite being winless on the road (D5-L6), Deportivo have managed to find the net in their last seven on their travels, but they’re without a clean sheet in nine away. They’ve lost but scored at Eibar and Celta Vigo this term and it was a similar case last season as they managed to net in all four of their trips to teams between 4th and 7th. We’re backing Bilbao to win and both teams to score.
