The Set Odds’ 4-4-2 System: Post-Weekend Review [Week 2]

Hello all,

There were some shock results in the Premier League this weekend which largely let us down – but it’s great to have the top four divisions back in action.

Arsenal’s 4-3 classic against Leicester City gave us a Premier League Friday feeling we’d be craving since that drab Championship play-off final last May between Huddersfield Town and Reading.

And it was the Terriers who provided one of the biggest shocks of the weekend with a 3-0 thumping of Frank de Boer’s Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Despite ending their successful Championship season with a negative goal difference, Huddersfield stunned the Eagles and with that and Burnley’s surprise 3-2 win at last season’s champions Chelsea, our Win 5fold and a few other bets were down.

We went really close again but were left crying into our computers as our Over 1.5 goals online betting slip went up in smoke as the full-time whistle sounded at Barnet to signal their 1-0 win over Luton. The Hatters triumphed 8-2 last weekend – you cannot make it up sometimes.

Just one more goal for either team would’ve given us a 15-point return for the bet, giving us a five-point profit for the weekend. But, sadly, it wasn’t to be.

One player who was amongst the goals last weekend was my 25/1 outsider tip for Championship top scorer, Hull’s Abel Hernandez.

The Uruguayan grabbed a hat-trick as the Tigers smashed Burton Albion 4-1, another result we picked out on our unfortunate Win 5fold, along with wins for Everton and Man City, both of which came in. If only Chelsea and Palace had read the script.

Looking forward, the Championship returns for a full schedule across Tuesday and Wednesday, but there are no Premier League, League 1 or League 2 fixtures so there simply aren’t enough games to back 10 markets this midweek.

Instead, I’m having four bets which you can back below.

After my coat-less calamity at Colchester United last week I wished for a better away day supporting Aston Villa at Cardiff City on Saturday.

While I managed to return home with all of my clothes this time, some of the Villa players may as well had not been wearing claret and blue shirts.
